America turns 250 in 2026, and Erik Espinosa decided the occasion called for a Warhead. The 601 La Bomba Warhead 250 Independence Day is the annual Warhead release reimagined as a full-blown patriotic celebration, dressed in red, white, and blue packaging that makes it one of the most visually distinctive cigars of the year. But don’t let the packaging fool you into thinking this is just a collectible.
Hector Alfonso Sr. built a legitimate smoke for this one — a 5.75×56 robusto gordo rolled at the San Lotano Factory in Ocotal, Nicaragua, wrapped in a smooth Ecuadorian Habano leaf over an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler that delivers the kind of medium-full body and layered complexity the Warhead name has earned since 2013. Dark earth, espresso, black pepper, leather, and a natural Ecuadorian sweetness build steadily from first third to a long, clean finish that hits with authority without ever going nuclear. Limited to 4,000 boxes of 10. America’s birthday only comes around once a year. This Warhead comes around even less often.
