“La Lealtad” means loyalty — and the García family has earned the right to put that word on a box. José “Pepin” García and his son Jaime built My Father Cigars into one of the most decorated cigar operations in the world, rolling some of the most acclaimed blends of the past two decades at their Estelí factory.
Now, quietly and without fanfare, they’ve done it again — opening a second factory in Honduras and releasing their second Honduran production cigar at PCA 2026. The La Lealtad Box Pressed Torpedo is a 6.12×52 that puts the full weight of this new Honduran operation on display.
The Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro Rosado wrapper is warm and reddish, oily to the touch, and beautifully applied over a double binder of Honduran and Nicaraguan leaf — a construction choice that adds complexity from the inside out before the blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran filler tobaccos even enters the conversation. The result is medium-full in strength and deeply satisfying from first light to finish — steady, balanced, and utterly unfussy, delivering earth, cedar, dark spice, roasted coffee, and a long, clean finish that lingers. No gimmicks. No overblown marketing. Just a García cigar doing exactly what García cigars do.
