Every year, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust releases its DTT annual cabinet — a limited, handcrafted expression that the cigar world waits for. The 2026 edition is “Year of the Pausers,” subtitled “Friends to Many,” and it may be the most personal DTT cabinet yet. Fourteen cigars in a 6×48 parejo with the signature DTT-style pig tail moña, hand-crafted at JDN and NACSA in Estelí, Nicaragua, limited to approximately 2,700 boxes worldwide. Inside each cabinet are two completely different ligas — seven of each — named after two people who clearly meant something to Steve Saka and the DTT family.

“Michele” is the lighter of the two, inspired by the Sin Compromiso Paladin de Saka blend. It wears a Grade 1 Mexican San Andrés Cultivo Tonto wrapper — the rarest and most select expression of that leaf — over an Ecuadorian Habano Viso Rosado binder and a filler of Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania Seedleaf. Medium-plus in body, it delivers cocoa, espresso, loam, and a sweet, very creamy finish that settles in and stays. “Tom” is built from a different philosophy entirely — inspired by DTT’s heavier bodies like Triqui Traca and MQ Black. The Nicaraguan Capa Camaleón wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder and Nicaraguan and Dominican filler delivers full-body intensity with burnt caramel, salty depth, dark chocolate, and a tangy edge that Steve himself notes will age out beautifully. Two friends. Two ligas. One cabinet. This is what makes DTT untouchable.
