Impressive cigar, just not ‘the one’ in terms of ultimate enjoyment.
With a punch cut, the draw was more on the firmer side, but not to the point of needing of any extra adjustment.
This one is enjoyable at the end of a loud night of painting the town red.
On the high medium boldness scale, there is a bit of peppering after a retrohale that doesn’t linger for too long.
Smoked for a little over an hour with decent smoke density. Nice, mildly spicy cigar.
Burn correction happened at the end of the first and start of the third, which is not really a deal breaker, considering the circumstances.
I would definitely consider recommending this one with any coffee.

Tonight, I smoked the CAO Consigliere Soldier, and here’s the rub. After a cut and a light, it was a smidge tight in the draw. It put out this sweetness like no other, it was like a sugary sweet oil on the palate. Grassy. The finish was like a cinnamon flavored molasses. Peppery retrohale that ligers in the nasal a bit. A bit earthy. Medium to full body. Slightly reduced smoke output. I would say a decent construction, some minor touch ups and a small tunnel I corrected. Into the second third, not a lot of transitioning, holding the flavor profile. This cigar is just sweet and good like desert. The retrohale is a bit punchy. Low strength. It’s a cigar that stands out for its uniqueness with the sweetness it gives off, but it does have a simple flavor profile. I’m assuming the sweet oil is from the Brazilian wrapper. I keep getting a slight fruit note, like a melon flavor. I want to call out a leather but there’s not enough there to really make that call. Coming into the final third, it’s a little rough, but not so much that it losses points. A new note of a citrus has come into the smoke. It also has a light spice on the tongue. If anything, I can say that it’s an interesting cigar. I don’t get many like this. It’s a nice break from my usual smokes. The ash is a bit flaky and dark, but holds on for about an inch and a half. I can see myself purchasing this again, just to have something different around every now and then. Definitely enjoyable. The pepper has smoothed out here In the final. Sweet cinnamon on the palate now as well. Shorter finish. The sweet oil is letting up. Im scoring it with 89 points.
