Today, I smoked the 601 Green Label Oscuro Tronco, and here’s the run down. This cigar has a lightweight firm feel. The cut and a light kicks off a very loose draw, and a super nasty peppery uppercut to the nose. There’s a nice chocolate, earth and leather with a sweetness from the wrapper. This is one cigar I can say taste good, real good. There’s a little sweet coffee in the aftertaste. Nice construction with an even burn line. Rounding out of first gear, the retro has smoothed out by half, the smoke is chewy and thick, lots of output and really smooth. I am definitely enjoying this. This cigar is punching above it’s $8 pay grade for sure, I think I’ve found something I can add to my wish list. The ash held on for an inch and a half. The flavor profile seems to be holding on in the second third, not a lot transitioning here. I’m gettin one new note, and that is almond. The chocolate is still very nice and it’s a bit toasty now. A little char in the draw. A bit woodsy in the second. Just a very nice cigar. I don’t usually use the term delicious to describe a cigar but I feel this one has earned it. I am going to definitely purchase more of these. It’s very blended. Equal amounts of chocolate, leather, earth, nuttiness, toasted wood, that’s smooth. Still has that black pepper retrohale. Medium strength. Full flavor. Medium finish. A hint of cedar came in and left quickly. Coming to to the final third, still pumping out amazing flavors. The retrohale has added some wood and leather to the now white pepper. Still an even burn. The body does seem to be creeping up to full. A sight more strength. Just an enjoyable smoke. I’m going to go against cigar aficionado’s 91 on this cigar and rate it a 93. I can’t wait it get another one. I don’t feel that this review has done justice to how good this cigar was. I’m definitely recommending it.

My first cigar experiences were with Espinosa and the La Bomba. So I’m use to the spice. This one reminds me of the enclave broadleaf in a lot of ways. The flavors are similar and the retro is spicy. As a fan of the strong and flavorful blends this one is one I would buy again and again. Great balance of flavor, pepper, and strength. 9/10
